Résumé: Jake Blues, just out from prison, puts together his old band to save the Catholic home where he and brother Elwood were raised.
Commentaire: "The Blues Brothers" was the first film based on Saturday Night material and it is still the best by a mile. The two brothers (Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi) are on what they call "a mission from God". They are trying to raise money to save a Catholic orphanage. Of course money is difficult to come by and they get much of it by illegal means. They bring their band back together and more trouble ensues. By the end, it seems that they have become a threat to all of Chicago and to the national government in general. The comedy is great and the musical numbers just add to the film. The screenplay and direction are both surprisingly good. There are also cameos all over the place. Watch for Steven Spielberg in a very small part at the very end. A very enjoyable epic comedy. 4 stars out of 5.
